Following the attack on the baby food factory, Zelenskyy called for forcing Russia to make peace

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the Russian attack on a baby food factory in the Kyiv region, which killed at least four people. The head of state emphasized that such strikes once again demonstrate the need to increase pressure on Russia to force it to end the war against Ukraine and move toward a diplomatic settlement. According to Zelenskyy, the world must respond firmly to attacks on civilian facilities and civilians.

“The list of Russia’s latest ‘victories’ over the past few days has been joined by the ‘Yagotynske for Children’ factory, which produced baby food. Rescue operations are ongoing at the site of this strike in the Kyiv region—State Emergency Service units have already extinguished the fire. As of now, seven people are known to have been injured. Unfortunately, four people have died. My condolences to their families and loved ones,” the head of state wrote.

He noted that among the targets attacked by Russia were also food warehouses and a postal service facility in the Dnipropetrovsk region, an ambulance in Kherson, a school building in the Sumy region, port infrastructure in the Odesa region, residential buildings, and a clinic building in the Kharkiv region.

“Russia continues its war against life, and everyone who helps us is truly standing up to defend it. Every package of anti-ballistic support, every joint agreement we make on weapons production, every step the world takes in imposing sanctions against Russia—all of this helps protect people’s lives. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine! It is important for all of us to work together to force Russia to end this war and turn to diplomacy,” he added.

Four people were killedas a result of a Russian strike on a factory in the Brovary district.

In the Sumy region, two civilians were killed over the past day as a result of Russian strikes. Another 14 people were injured to varying degrees. The circumstances of the attacks and the extent of the damage are being clarified.

On the night of June 5, Russian forces once again attacked the Odesa region with strike drones. As a result of the enemy strike, a private residential building was destroyed, and one critical infrastructure facility was damaged. Relevant services are working at the sites of the strikes to address the consequences of the attack.
