Russian propagandist Sladkov acknowledged Ukraine's superiority in the drone war

Russian propagandist Sladkov acknowledged Ukraine's superiority in the drone war

Russian propaganda is increasingly forced to move away from narratives about the Russian military’s “technological superiority” and acknowledge the real problems facing the occupying forces on the front lines. The latest example came in a statement by one of the Kremlin’s most prominent propagandists, Alexander Sladkov, who effectively acknowledged the dominance of Ukrainian unmanned aerial systems on the battlefield.

For many years, Russian state media have portrayed the Russian army as a force with an unquestionable advantage over the enemy.

However, against the backdrop of significant losses and a difficult situation on the front lines, the propagandists’ rhetoric has begun to shift.

Commenting on the situation at the front and the difficulties faced by Russian assault units, Sladkov cited telling figures regarding the use of drones.

“The situation is such that the Russian Armed Forces have 17 drones per kilometer, while the enemy has 10 drones for every one of our advancing assault troops,” the propagandist stated.

In fact, this statement indicates a high level of drone saturation among Ukrainian units and significant risks for Russian troops during offensive operations.

In recent months, drone technology has become one of the decisive elements of modern warfare, allowing for the detection of targets, fire correction, and precision strikes against enemy personnel and equipment.

According to military experts, the effective use of drones significantly complicates the conduct of assault operations and increases the attacking side’s losses.

Against this backdrop, even representatives of Russian propaganda are increasingly acknowledging the problems faced by the occupying army and the advantages of Ukrainian technological solutions on the battlefield.

Sladkov’s statement is further evidence that the drone war continues to play a key role in deterring Russian offensive operations and inflicting losses on the occupying forces.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been able to significantly increase the effectiveness of striking Russian targets thanks to new technology that provides satellite data in near real time.

Ukrainian attacks on military and strategic targets within Russian territory are gradually changing the dynamics of the war, and it is becoming increasingly difficult for Russian authorities to hide the true consequences of the protracted conflict from the population.

Alexander Khinshtein, governor of Russia’s Kursk Oblast, reported that 507 civilians have been killed as a result of hostilities in the region. He announced these figures during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

As a reminder, on May 18, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a Russian command and observation post near Tyotkino in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, as well as a number of other enemy targets in the Kherson, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions.

Prior to this, Russian units in the Kursk sector made another attempt to break through to the rear of Ukrainian positions, using a gas pipeline and high-speed light vehicles. Thanks to the coordinated actions of intelligence and paratroopers from the 71st Separate Jaeger Brigade of the Airborne Forces, the enemy attack was completely repelled while still in the deployment phase.
