A captured Russian soldier spoke of significant losses in his unit
A Russian invader who was captured by Ukrainian forces reported heavy casualties in his unit. The video was released on April 24 on the Telegram channel of the 11th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Ground Forces.
In the recording, a soldier of the Russian Armed Forces says that after signing a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense and arriving at the front lines, his unit consisted of 30 people.
“Of the thirty people, about six remain. And it’s been like that consistently,” he said.
The report notes that the interview was recorded in compliance with international humanitarian law, and that the prisoner of war is in safe conditions and is giving testimony voluntarily.
