More than 60 attacks on the Sumy region in the past 24 hours; there are civilian casualties
In the Sumy region, a 66-year-old man was killed and 14 other people were wounded or injured by explosions as a result of heavy Russian shelling over the past 24 hours. Dozens of settlements in various communities across the region came under fire. Authorities are also reporting significant damage to civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out more than 60 attacks on the Sumy region, targeting 26 settlements in 20 territorial communities and using a wide range of weapons—from mortars and artillery to FPV drones, unmanned aerial vehicles, and guided aerial bombs—which indicates the systematic and combined nature of the attacks on the border region. The most tragic incident occurred in the Verkhnosyrovatska community, where a 66-year-old man was killed as a result of a drone strike.
Residents of several communities were injured: in the Sumy community, two men aged 35 and 39 were injured; in the Kyrykivka community, a 53-year-old woman was injured; and five more people were injured in the Trostyanets community. Separately, six residents from various communities are reported to have experienced acute stress reactions following the explosions. In addition to the human casualties, private homes, apartment buildings, farm structures, administrative buildings, infrastructure facilities, vehicles, and even a church were significantly damaged, underscoring the scale of the attack’s consequences. Also, over the past 24 hours, 34 people were evacuated from the region’s border communities and transported to safer areas. This was reported by the Sumy Regional State Administration on Telegram.
In the Kherson region, 13 people were injured as a result of Russian shelling over the past day, and more than 40 settlements in the region came under attack.
In the Sumy region, ten people were injured as a result of a massive attack by Russian drones; among them is a woman who was seriously injured and suffered severe burns.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a 56-year-old woman was killed as a result of Russian shelling, and two other people, including a 13-year-old girl, were injured. Enemy strikes affected several districts of the region at once, causing damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.
Russian troops carried out 924 strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours. Forty-two settlements came under fire. According to the regional military administration, one person was killed and 29 others were wounded, including three children.
