Air defense forces shot down 124 of 144 Russian drones during a massive attack on Ukraine

On the night of April 26, Russian forces launched another large-scale drone attack on Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed or intercepted most of the enemy targets.

The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

According to the Air Force, out of 144 drones launched, 124 were neutralized. These included Shahed-type strike UAVs, as well as “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and other drones.

The attack began on the evening of April 25—around 6:00 p.m. The drones were launched from several directions: Kursk, Bryansk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast. About a hundred of the drones were Shaheds.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare forces, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups were deployed to repel the air attack.

Despite the effective work of air defense forces, 19 strike drones were recorded hitting 11 different locations. Debris from downed drones was also found in six locations.

Information regarding the consequences of the attacks and possible damage is being clarified.

On the night of April 26, Russian forces carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Odesa region. Once again, the enemy’s primary target was the region’s port and logistics infrastructure.

An attack by enemy drones was recorded in Chernihiv, resulting in fires and damage to residential buildings in the city.

Ukrainian rescue workers have completed emergency restoration work at the site of a four-story building partially destroyed by the Russian strike. Six people are known to have died, and another 23 were injured.
