Air defense forces shot down 31 Russian missiles and 636 drones
Over the past 24 hours, from 7:00 a.m. on April 15 to 7:00 a.m. on April 16, Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 667 aerial targets used by Russia to attack the country’s territory.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.
In total, Russian forces carried out two waves of combined strikes using various types of missiles and attack drones. Radio-technical troops detected and tracked 703 aerial targets, including:
- 19 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;
- 20 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
- 659 drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the air attack.
According to preliminary data, as of the morning of April 16, air defense forces destroyed or intercepted:
- 19 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 8 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;
- 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
- 636 attack drones.
At the same time, 12 missiles and 20 drones were recorded as having struck 26 locations. Debris from the downed targets fell at another 25 locations.
Information regarding one cruise missile is being verified. The attack is ongoing—enemy drones remain in the air.
Seven people were killed and at least 12 others were wounded as a result of a nighttime attack by Russian forces on Odesa.
In Dnipro, the death toll from the Russian forces’ nighttime attack has risen. As of now, two people are known to have died and 27 were injured.
At least four people were killed. Another 21 people were injured.
Earlier, Russian troops attacked the Bila Tserkva district in the Kyiv region, causing a fire at one of the enterprises.
