Border guards have reclaimed more than 10 square kilometers of territory in the Kharkiv region
Fighters from the State Border Guard Service’s “Forpost” Brigade have regained control of more than 10 square kilometers of territory in the Kharkiv region for Ukraine. The operation lasted four months along a specific section of the front line.
During this time, border guards killed 118 Russian soldiers and took seven more prisoner. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported on the results of the operation.
The brigade took up its defensive position on June 10, when the situation in that sector remained challenging. Russian troops regularly attacked Ukrainian positions, struck logistics routes, and attempted to disrupt supply lines.
Subsequently, the occupiers began using small infantry groups, attempting to infiltrate unnoticed between Ukrainian positions, move into the rear, and gather in shelters.
Border guards conducted reconnaissance, identified the locations of Russian troops, struck at them, and launched assault operations. Step by step, they drove the enemy out of their cover and recaptured previously lost areas.
The State Border Guard Service emphasized that operations in this area are ongoing.
