Proposals from Ukraine and its allies give Putin a chance to avoid collapse, says Sibiga
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga stated that the initiatives proposed by Ukraine together with its allies could be the Kremlin leadership’s last chance to end the war and avoid a massive collapse.
According to Sibiga, international partners are increasingly coming to a common understanding of the situation on the front lines and recognize that Ukraine has stabilized its defenses and is demonstrating success on the battlefield.
“Ukraine is effectively employing asymmetric operations, which significantly strengthen our negotiating position. I think it is becoming increasingly obvious—not just obvious, but strikingly evident—that for Putin, the war has not simply gone off course, but is leading him toward collapse,” the minister emphasized.
At the same time, he stressed that Kyiv’s diplomatic proposals, supported by international partners, leave Russia the opportunity to cease hostilities.
“And the proposals that Ukraine has put forward today, with the support of our allies, are undoubtedly an opportunity for Putin to end this war and, in fact, avoid collapse,” Andriy Sybiga stated.
The foreign minister also reported that on July 8, during a meeting of the Ukraine–NATO Council in Ankara, the Ukrainian side briefed its allies on the consequences of the latest Russian attacks, the situation on the front lines, developments in the defense industry, and the results of long-range strikes on Russian military facilities.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy made these remarks during a briefing for journalists on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that a large-scale long-range campaign using drones could radically change the course of the war. In his view, a significant increase in the number of airstrikes on the Russian capital would force dictator Vladimir Putin to leave Moscow, which would bring the end of the war much closer.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is under pressure, and that the end of Russia’s war against Ukraine may be closer than many expect.
During a speech at the “United Russia” party congress, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin delivered yet another round of propaganda claims regarding the war in Ukraine and the domestic political situation in Russia. The Kremlin leader assured those present that the situation currently remains completely “under control” and that Western countries are incapable of defeating Russia on the battlefield.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry dismissed Putin’s statements and cited the actual losses suffered by Russia.
