On July 9, in Russia’s Stavropol Krai, drones struck a Lukoil oil depot, after which a massive fire broke out at the facility. According to preliminary reports, the targeted fuel storage facility is a key component of Russia’s military logistics support system.

 

On the night of July 9, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Mikhailovsk in the Stavropol Krai. The “Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt” oil depot came under attack by drones, after which a fire broke out on the facility’s grounds.

The first reports of the attack emerged around 4:00 a.m. The Telegram channel Exilenova+ released videos which, according to the channel, captured the moment of the drone attack and the fire at the oil depot in Mikhailovsk.

According to the channel, the strike targeted the “Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt” facility, which is part of Lukoil’s fuel infrastructure network in southern Russia. Footage circulating online shows intense flames and smoke rising above the area of the alleged strike.

At the time of publication, there was no official confirmation of the strike from Russian authorities. Neither the governor of the Stavropol Krai nor the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported on the consequences of the attack in Mikhailovsk. There is also no official information regarding possible damage, casualties, or the scale of the fire.

The “Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt” oil depot in Mikhailovsk (Stavropol Krai, Russian Federation) is one of the logistics facilities in Lukoil’s fuel network in southern Russia. It is known that the facility is part of Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt LLC—a subsidiary of Lukoil responsible for the storage, transportation, and sale of petroleum products in the southern regions of the Russian Federation. The company operates a network of oil depots and gas stations in the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, as well as in the Rostov, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Voronezh, and Belgorod regions, and in a number of other regions.
