Putin is ready to welcome Zelenskyy in Moscow for talks — Peskov
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is allegedly ready to receive Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Moscow for talks at any moment. According to Peskov, the so-called “special military operation” could be halted immediately after Kyiv makes a decision that, as the Kremlin claims, is “already well known” to the Russian side.
This is reported by Russian propaganda media.
At the same time, he noted that, in the Kremlin’s view, a meeting outside Moscow would only make sense if final agreements were signed.
Moscow or neutral territory—but only at the final stage
Any meeting between the two presidents outside of Russia, according to the Kremlin’s logic, would only make sense once the parties reach the stage of signing a peace agreement. Peskov also noted that the current progress regarding Ukraine gives Moscow grounds to speak of an “approaching settlement,” though he declined to provide specifics.
“The military operation will stop at any moment, as soon as the necessary decisions are made in Kyiv—decisions they are well aware of there,” he stated.
At the same time, the Kremlin spokesperson emphasized that Russia is open to dialogue and welcomes the U.S.’s mediating role in resolving the conflict.
The ceasefire has ended—fighting continues
Peskov also officially announced the end of the three-day humanitarian ceasefire, which Russia unilaterally imposed from May 8–10. “The special military operation” is resuming in full, he stated.
