Kyiv and Moscow have received new proposals from the U.S. regarding the war
U.S. President’s Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner discussed with Moscow and Kyiv possible steps to reduce the intensity of hostilities during the winter.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the American negotiators primarily sought to restart the diplomatic process and also presented several new proposals.
Among them were ideas regarding energy facilities and the export of grain, oil, and gas.
Zelenskyy noted that Russia, as in previous years, may intensify attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector in the fall and winter in an attempt to force Kyiv to make concessions. At the same time, he believes that Vladimir Putin is ready to discuss proposals for resuming peace talks.
Zelenskyy made these remarks in an interview with Axios.
