Putin has drastically reduced his public appearances and rarely leaves Moscow
Since the beginning of the year, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has significantly reduced the number of public appearances and has virtually stopped traveling to the regions.
This is reported by Faridaily.
According to the publication’s calculations, his public activity in January–March decreased by about a quarter compared to the same period last year. Even when accounting for pre-scheduled events, the decline amounts to about 20%.
Compared to the pre-election year of 2024, the number of events has nearly halved—from 107 to 54.
The number of trips has also decreased significantly: over the course of three months, Putin left Moscow only once—for a trip to St. Petersburg.
No official explanation has been given for the decline in activity. At the same time, the publication’s sources note that the Kremlin is increasingly focused on personal comfort and internal decisions rather than public activities.
Russians are striking over unpaid wages, which they last received back in 2025.
As a reminder, Russia wants to build the “Azov Ring” in the occupied territories.
Putin is also demanding that businesses not spend windfall profits from the war in Iran.
