Putin has expanded his security detail for the fourth time
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has increased the staff of the central office of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) for the fourth time since the start of the full-scale war. Its maximum authorized strength is now 812 employees—27 more than before.
The FSO’s staff began expanding in 2022, when its headcount rose from 725 to 760. In 2024, two more phases of expansion were approved—to 775 employees, and starting in 2025—to 785.
Thus, over four years, the number of employees in the FSO’s central administration has increased by nearly 90 people.
Putin Has Expanded His Security Detail
The Kremlin leader signed a decree on yet another expansion of the FSO’s central administration—the fourth since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
According to the document, the maximum number of staff in the FSO’s central office is increasing from 785 to 812, the publication reports.
The staff was expanded:
January 1, 2025—to 785 personnel,
January 1, 2024—to 775 people,
at the end of 2022—from 725 to 760 people.
Prior to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the FSO’s central administration had not expanded for nearly 13 years.
At the SCO summit, Putin made a statement regarding the end of the war against Ukraine.
During the meeting, Narendra Modi also emphasized that his country supports peace efforts and that every day of hostilities sets humanity back, so resolving issues through peaceful means is a necessity for the entire world.
Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Bishkek for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit marking the 25th anniversary of the organization. The meetings on Monday and Tuesday are taking place under the slogan “25 Years of the SCO: Together for Lasting Peace, Development, and Prosperity.”
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, which begins Monday in Bishkek, will bring together the leaders of China, Russia—the aggressor state—Iran, India, Pakistan, Belarus, and the countries of Central Asia. Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will meet together for the first time since the start of the U.S. and Israeli war against the Islamic Republic.
