Putin Is Losing the Initiative on the Battlefield — Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia is now significantly weaker than it was at the start of the full-scale invasion and is gradually losing the initiative in the war.
The head of state made these remarks to reporters ahead of talks with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara. According to Zelenskyy, it is currently difficult to say under what conditions Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is ready for peace, as his demands are constantly changing.
“I don’t know exactly what conditions Putin wants right now to achieve peace. I think they’re constantly changing. After all, at the very beginning of the full-scale war, his position was stronger. Now, in my opinion, he is losing the initiative on the battlefield,” the president said.
The head of state believes that one of the main reasons for this is Ukraine’s technological advantage.
“Today, we have a technological advantage over Russia. Perhaps we’re moving faster. Yes, they also produce many different weapons that pose a serious threat to us. But we are faster. That is why, in my opinion, the initiative has already shifted to our side. Not completely, but to a significant extent,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy told Trump that Moscow is not a suitable venue for negotiations due to the danger posed by drones.
Trump stated that the U.S. may allow Ukraine to manufacture missiles for the Patriot system.
Also, U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Spain ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara, declaring his intention to sever trade relations and halt visits between the two countries.
