Putin says peace with Ukraine is possible, Rutte warns of Russia’s actions

Russian President Vladimir Putin, the leader of the aggressor state, said at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok that he considers peace with Ukraine possible. According to him, Russia and Ukraine should resolve the issues of ending the war. This was reported by CNBC Top News.

Statement on airspace

Putin also called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s appeal to airlines to avoid Russian airspace “state terrorism.” Zelenskyy addressed air carriers on Tuesday amid an intensification of long-range operations by Ukrainian drones inside Russia, including against energy and military infrastructure.

The president of Ukraine stated that Russian airspace is becoming completely unsafe due to the significant number of drones in the sky. In response, Putin said that Russia would intensify its strikes on Ukraine.

NATO warning

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Wednesday that Russia is behaving increasingly recklessly. As examples, he cited missiles and drones crossing Europe’s eastern flank, as well as a suspected Russian hybrid attack at Leipzig airport in Germany last month.

At a joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Rutte said that NATO is working to protect its citizens. He also stressed that the Alliance would not be divided by threats and would not stop supporting Ukraine.

According to CNBC, attempts by the United States and European countries to bring Kyiv and Moscow closer to an agreement have so far yielded no results. The sides disagree over territories, security guarantees and Ukraine’s military course.
