Defense forces have been ordered to observe a ceasefire on the front lines from September 5 to 8 — media reports
According to some Ukrainian media outlets and Telegram channels, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been ordered to observe a ceasefire along the entire front line from September 5 through September 8. As of the time of publication, there has been no official confirmation of this information.
According to the publications’ sources, from 12:00 a.m. on September 5 to 11:59 p.m. on September 8, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were ordered to observe a ceasefire.
“An order has been issued to cease fire along the entire front line until September 8. The Ukrainian Defense Forces will respond in kind to any violations by the Russians,” wrote Ukraine Context, a source close to the Office of the President.
As a reminder, U.S. President’s Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have traveled to Ukraine and Russia with an American proposal to end the war. According to Donald Trump, they are tasked with determining whether an agreement can be reached to end the war between Kyiv and Moscow. The U.S. president believes there is a chance of success, although he acknowledges serious disagreements between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin.
