Russia launched drone attacks on energy infrastructure, leaving seven regions without power

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched a massive drone attack on energy infrastructure facilities in several regions of Ukraine. As a result of the damage to equipment, power outages persist as of this morning in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, and Odesa regions.

This was reported by Ukrenergo.

“Emergency repair work is being carried out wherever safety conditions currently permit. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible,” Ukrenergo reports.

At the same time, Ukrenergo notes that electricity consumption is trending downward. As of 9:30 a.m. on April 2, consumption was 3.5% lower than at the same time the previous day. The reason for the decline is clear weather in most regions of Ukraine.

“Given the weather conditions, it is advisable to schedule energy-intensive processes today during the period when solar power plants are most productive—from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In the evening hours, all regions of Ukraine need to conserve energy. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and do not turn on several such appliances at the same time,” adds Ukrenergo.

On the night of April 1, Russian forces launched more than ten drone and artillery strikes on the cities of Synelnykove, Pavlohrad, and the Nikopol district in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 147 of the 172 drones used by Russian troops to attack the country’s territory starting the evening of April 1.

Throughout April 1, Ukrainian air defenders repelled a large-scale daytime attack, shooting down 345 of 361 Russian drones.

Russians attacked Odesa with more than 60 strike drones — Zelenskyy.

Russian drones attacked the Poltava region—one person was killed.

A Russian night attack damaged port infrastructure in the Odesa region.
