Russia attacks Odesa with drones, homes damaged, casualties reported

During the night of 19 March, Russian forces attacked Odesa with drones. As a result of the strike, residential areas of the city were hit, and casualties were reported.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak.

“As a result of the Russian attack, strikes on residential areas of the city have been recorded,” he said.

According to the official, two high-rise buildings, a residential building in Odesa’s historic centre, and buildings in the private sector were damaged. The attack caused fires, which were promptly extinguished by emergency services.

Three people were reported injured, two of whom were hospitalised.

Emergency services are continuing to deal with the aftermath of the attack and document the damage.

On the morning of 19 March, Russian forces struck infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the attack, one person was injured and part of the city was left without electricity.

On the evening of 18 March, near the Novovolynsk community in the Volyn region, Russian drones struck an energy facility. The facility was seriously damaged and a fire broke out. Emergency services are working at the scene.

Earlier that evening, Russian forces also struck near Novovolynsk, a few kilometres from the Polish border. As a result of the hit on an energy facility, power outages and water supply disruptions were recorded in the city.
