In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces are unsuccessfully launching attacks using small groups and drones
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops have changed their tactics, actively deploying small assault groups, armored vehicles, and FPV drones; however, Ukrainian defenders are neutralizing them before they can reach the positions.
This was reported on Army TV by Andriy Otchenash, a serviceman of the 4th Special Operations Brigade “Rubizh” of the National Guard of Ukraine.
According to him, the enemy’s use of heavy equipment has been virtually nonexistent recently. Instead, the occupiers are relying on mobility and sheer numbers.
He cited a telling example of a Russian soldier attempting to launch an attack on a scooter.
“Yesterday there was an incredibly massive piece of equipment that really scared us. It was a scooter; it was destroyed literally 50 seconds after the soldier rode out on it. We didn’t get the joke because he was alone, riding across the field. We destroyed the scooter and the rider, and that, in principle, ended the assault,” the soldier said.
According to him, the Russians actively use motorcycles and ATVs, but such assaults remain fruitless—none of them have succeeded in the past month and a half.
At the same time, enemy drones remain the greatest threat. The number of FPV drones in the enemy’s arsenal has increased significantly.
“The Russians very often use the ‘I was told to do it, so I did it—the main thing is to check the box’ approach. That’s why their quality is indeed lower, but the quantity is just insane. In March alone, 5,000 FPV drones were detected in the defense zone of the ‘Rubizh’ Brigade,” Otchenash noted.
Despite their numerical superiority in drones, the level of training among Russian operators, according to the military official, lags behind that of Ukrainian operators, which allows for effective countermeasures against attacks.
Ukrainian military intelligence conducted a series of raids in the Zaporizhzhia sector. Enemy positions, equipment, and personnel were destroyed. The operations complicated the enemy’s preparations for an offensive.
