Russia attacked Ukraine with drones and "Bandera" missiles; air defense forces neutralized 72 targets
On the night of September 18, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with 93 strike drones and “Banderole”/“Dan-T” loitering munitions. Ukrainian air defenses neutralized 72 enemy targets.
According to reports, starting at 6:00 p.m. on September 17, Russian forces launched 93 aerial attack vehicles at Ukraine. These included “Shahed” and “Gerbera” drones, “Parody” decoy drones, as well as “Banderol”/“Dan-T” loitering munitions.
According to the Air Force, 46 of the “Shahed”-type drones launched were jet-powered.
The Russian drones and other weapons were launched from the Orel and Millerov regions, from the waters of the Sea of Azov, and from temporarily occupied territories.
Specifically, these included Gvardeyskoye in occupied Crimea and Donetsk.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m. on September 18, Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down or jammed 69 Russian drones of various types, including “Shahed” and “Gerbera.”
In addition, three “Banderole”/“Dan-T” loitering munitions were neutralized. Thus, air defense forces neutralized a total of 72 enemy targets.
At the same time, Russian munitions were recorded striking 13 locations, and downed targets and debris were found at three more.
The Air Force emphasized that some of the enemy munitions did not reach their targets, and an assessment of the attack’s consequences is ongoing.
As of this morning, Russian UAVs were still being detected in Ukrainian airspace. Citizens were urged to follow safety guidelines and not to ignore air raid alerts.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops shelled 40 settlements in the Kherson region using drones, aircraft, and artillery. As a result of the attacks, one person was killed and nine others were wounded.
In Zaporizhzhia, the number of people injured in an attack by a Russian FPV drone on a passenger bus has risen. Currently, eight people are known to have been injured—four men and four women. All of them are receiving the necessary medical care.
The enemy attacked a passenger bus in the Kosmichny district of Zaporizhzhia with an FPV drone. At the time of the attack, the bus was carrying people who were on their way to run errands.
