Russia is preparing to deploy paratroopers to the south to intensify its assaults — Voloshin
Russian forces have stepped up offensive operations in the Orikhiv sector and are preparing to deploy an assault airborne battalion to intensify attacks in southern Ukraine.
This was reported by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
According to him, over the past 24 hours, the enemy carried out nine assaults near Stepnogorsk, Maly Shcherbakiv, and Shcherbakiv, although previously only three or four attacks were typically recorded in this area.
“This confirms our intelligence data that the enemy was regrouping and moving assault group personnel to forward positions,” Voloshin stated.
He added that the occupiers are also attempting to infiltrate sabotage groups deep into Ukrainian defensive lines.
According to intelligence, the command of the “Dnipro” group plans to redeploy an assault airborne battalion from General Mykhailo Teplinsky’s reserve to the Orikhiv direction.
“An assault airborne battalion will be redeployed to maintain a high tempo of assault operations,” the spokesperson said.
In addition, Russian troops continue their activities on the islands near Kherson. According to Voloshin, the occupiers are regrouping and preparing for new landing attempts.
“We are ready for this; we are waiting: sail away, and we will sink you,” he emphasized.
Also over the past week, Ukrainian forces recorded up to 30 assault attempts in the area of the Antonivski Bridges and landing attempts on the islands of Bilogrudyi, Nestriga, and Milkyi.
Two people were killed and 19 others were wounded as a result of a Russian missile strike on the city of Derhachi in the Kharkiv region.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced its intention to launch “systemic strikes” on Kyiv, claiming that the targets would allegedly be facilities involved in the development, production, and use of Ukrainian drones.
