Russia may intensify its attacks on gas stations throughout Ukraine

Russian troops may intensify their attacks on Ukraine’s gas station infrastructure, turning them into a systematic tactic. This view was expressed by Dmitry Lyushkin, founder of the Prime Group of Companies and a fuel expert, in comments to UNIAN.

According to him, Russian drones are capable of reaching any region of Ukraine, so there are virtually no safe places for gas stations. The expert noted that this week, gas stations in Pyriatyn and Kryvyi Rih came under attack, even though these cities are not located near the front lines.

Lyushkin states that reports of gas stations being hit come in regularly. He estimates that every day, three to five gas stations are put out of commission due to Russian attacks, and strikes on fuel tankers are also being recorded.

In light of this, the expert recommends that drivers avoid being at gas stations during air raid alerts, visit them less frequently if possible, and build up a small fuel reserve in advance.

According to Lyushkin, the attacks on fuel infrastructure are systematic in nature and are unlikely to cease anytime soon. At the same time, he is skeptical about the possibility of providing effective air defense for every gas station due to their large number throughout the country.

It should be noted, however, that these assessments represent the expert’s opinion. The Ukrainian authorities have not yet issued any official statements regarding a change in the tactics of Russian attacks specifically targeting gas station infrastructure.

On June 9, a Russian drone attacked a gas station in Zaporizhzhia. Five people were injured in the strike, and a fire broke out at the gas station.

Russia is spreading disinformation about a fuel shortage in Ukraine amid the attacks on gas stations.
