Russia may launch new massive strike in coming days, says National Security and Defence Council
The Russian Federation may prepare a new massive strike in Ukraine in the coming days. In this regard, the National Security and Defence Council has urged people to pay close attention to air raid alerts.
This was reported by Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defence Council, on Telegram.
“The enemy may be preparing a strike, so please pay attention to air raid alerts,” he said.
In recent months, Russian forces have increased the intensity of combined attacks using different types of missiles and strike drones. Among the main targets are energy infrastructure facilities, water supply systems, and critical communications.
During one of these attacks, carried out overnight, 29 missiles were launched, most of them ballistic, along with about 480 drones.
Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv were among the cities most affected, along with the Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions and other areas. Civilian casualties were reported, including children.
Due to strikes on infrastructure, several ports were damaged, and for security reasons about 20 trains stopped overnight.
Earlier, on the night of 13 March, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a ballistic missile and more than one hundred strike drones. Ukrainian air defence forces engaged the aerial targets and destroyed enemy drones.
Meanwhile, Russian forces lost another 860 soldiers on the front line over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past twenty-four hours, Ukrainian troops repelled 122 enemy attacks along the entire front line. The most intense fighting was recorded in the Huliaipole and Kostiantynivka directions.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a Merlin-VR drone.
