Russia attacks Ukraine overnight with ballistic missile and more than 100 drones

On the night of 13 March, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a ballistic missile and more than one hundred strike drones. Ukrainian air defence forces engaged the aerial targets and destroyed enemy targets in the air.

This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Air Force, Russia launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Rostov region and 126 strike unmanned aerial vehicles, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas drones, as well as other types of drones. They were launched from Bryansk, Orel, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

About 80 of the drones were Shahed-type. The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence shot down or suppressed 117 enemy drones.

At the same time, a ballistic missile strike and eight drone hits were recorded at seven locations, while debris from downed drones fell at five locations.

The Air Force added that the attack was ongoing, with several enemy drones still in the air, and urged people to follow safety rules.

Meanwhile, Russian forces lost another 860 soldiers on the front line over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Over the past twenty-four hours, Ukrainian troops repelled 122 enemy attacks along the entire front line. The most intense fighting was recorded in the Huliaipole and Kostiantynivka directions.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a Merlin-VR drone.
