Russia is attempting to disrupt logistics in the Zaporizhzhia area — Ukrainian Armed Forces
Russian troops continue their attempts to disrupt logistics for Ukrainian units in the south. The Southern Defense Forces reported that the enemy is attempting to cut off supply routes toward Zaporizhzhia, Huliaipole, and Orikhiv, but these efforts have been unsuccessful. Ukrainian forces are holding their positions and maintaining control of the situation on this section of the front.
This was stated by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
According to the spokesperson, the Russians are currently unable to accomplish these tasks.
“Next, they are moving toward Tavriiske, meaning they need to break through and cut off logistics routes, say, from Zaporizhzhia to Huliaipole, and then on to Pokrovske in the Dnipropetrovsk region. And in the south and east, the goal is to cut off the supply routes to Orikhiv and move toward Zaporizhzhia. They are trying to do this. But they are not very successful, as I have already said,” emphasized Vladyslav Voloshin.
He also noted that the Russian military group stationed between Huliaipole and Orikhiv—where the heaviest fighting is currently taking place on this section of the front—had been tasked with capturing Verkhnia Tersa by May 15. The Russians did not capture this settlement.
“Verkhnya Tersa is ours, and the enemy still has a long way to go to reach it,” Voloshin emphasized.
According to him, Russian sabotage groups occasionally approach, but are quickly eliminated by the Defense Forces. The approximate front line runs 12–15 km from this settlement.
As a reminder, Russia attacked a substation in the Kramatorsk district with an FPV drone.
In the Zolochiv community of the Kharkiv region, a Russian drone attacked the Hryhorii Skovoroda National Literary and Memorial Museum.
