Zelenskyy warned of a possible attack on Ukraine by Oreshnik

Zelenskyy warned of a possible attack on Ukraine by Oreshnik

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that, according to information from American and European partners, Russia may be preparing to launch an "Oreshnik" missile strike against Ukraine. The Ukrainian side is currently verifying this information.

The Ukrainian leader announced this on social media.

“We are seeing signs of preparations for a combined strike on Ukrainian territory, particularly on Kyiv, using various types of weapons. The aforementioned medium-range weapons may be involved in such a strike. It is important to respond consciously to air raid alerts, starting tonight. Russian madness truly knows no bounds, so please, save your lives—take shelter,” Zelenskyy noted.

Zelenskyy noted that air defense forces are preparing for a possible strike as much as possible, and that a fully justified response will follow such an attack.

“We gave permission for the parade, but there is no permission for madness in Russia. This war must end—we need peace, not some missiles to satisfy the sick ambitions of a single person. Thank you to everyone who is helping to save lives! Once again: please, take care of yourselves and use shelters today,” Zelenskyy said.

As a reminder, Belarus manufactures launchers for “Oreshnik” ballistic missiles, and Lukashenko dreams of obtaining Russian missiles for them. This was stated by Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko.

The Kremlin is stepping up its threats against Ukraine and its allies ahead of May 9, trying to hide its own inability to protect Russia’s rear regions from Ukrainian strikes.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a series of decrees implementing the National Security and Defense Council’s decisions on new restrictive measures.
