Russia has sharply intensified its drone attacks on Kramatorsk
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops are conducting almost no active assaults, but have significantly intensified their airstrikes on the city and civilian infrastructure. The occupiers are increasingly using drones in an attempt to make life unbearable for the residents of Kramatorsk.
According to her, the Kramatorsk sector remains one of the quietest on the front line in terms of ground attacks, as the Russian command is redeploying some of its personnel to the Sloviansk and Kostiantynivka sectors, which it considers higher priorities.
At the same time, the occupiers’ strategic goal has not changed. According to Kosenko, Russian troops are attempting to encircle Kramatorsk while avoiding a direct assault on the city.
Despite the decrease in infantry activity, the number of drone attacks has increased severalfold over the past week and a half. Military equipment, logistics routes, and civilian facilities are coming under fire.
“There isn’t even a relatively quiet hour in Kramatorsk right now. This is simply terrorizing the civilian population—an attempt to drive people out of the city and make life there impossible,” the spokesperson emphasized.
She also reported that no significant buildup of enemy forces has been observed in the 56th Brigade’s area of responsibility. On the contrary, Ukrainian military personnel have noted the redeployment of Russian units to other sections of the front, which has reduced the activity of enemy infantry maneuvers.
According to Kosenko, Ukrainian intelligence has intercepted information about the delivery of over a thousand “Molniya”-type drones to Russian troops, which are intended to be used to intensify attacks specifically on Kramatorsk.
In addition, the occupiers are actively using fiber-optic FPV drones, including so-called “loitering drones” and transit drones.
While such drones previously mainly targeted military vehicles outside the city, they are now increasingly being detected directly within Kramatorsk. The occupiers are also deploying them along the Sloviansk–Kramatorsk highway, where they attack any vehicles—both military and civilian.
“The enemy has no shortage of drones. On the contrary, over the past week and a half, the concentration of drones in the Kramatorsk area and attacks on Kramatorsk itself have intensified to the maximum,” Olga Kosenko concluded.
Olga Kosenko, spokesperson for the 56th Separate Mariupol Motorized Infantry Brigade, reported this on Army TV.
