Russia has attacked Zaporizhzhia three times; there is one fatality and several people have been injured
On the night and morning of June 22, Russian troops carried out a series of attacks on Zaporizhzhia using attack drones. The shelling damaged private homes and a high-rise building, resulting in civilian casualties, including one fatality and several injuries, among them an 11-year-old boy.
Around 11:00 p.m. on June 21, Russian forces struck a private residence in one of Zaporizhzhia’s districts, causing a fire.
Two people were injured in the attack: a 67-year-old woman suffered shrapnel wounds to her limbs, and a 71-year-old man experienced an acute stress reaction. Both received the necessary medical care.
After midnight, Russian drones attacked the city again. One of the drones destroyed a private home, where a massive fire broke out.
As a result, another man was injured and hospitalized.
The blast wave also damaged a multi-story residential building, shattering windows and damaging the facade.
On the morning of June 22, the attacks on Zaporizhzhia continued. One of the drones struck a non-residential building, where a fire broke out. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
Another strike hit a residential area, where a fire broke out again. Initially, details about the consequences were being clarified, but it later became known that there were casualties.
Later, the regional governor confirmed that three people were injured in the attack, including an 11-year-old boy who is under medical supervision; a woman who was inside the house destroyed by fire after the drone strike was killed.
Rescue workers and emergency services are operating at the sites of the strikes, conducting search operations, and clearing up the damage.
