Russia strikes civilian train in Kryvorizhzhia, one dead and several injured
Russian forces carried out a strike on a civilian train in the Kryvorizhzhia area. The attack took place in Dnipropetrovsk region and was directed at transport infrastructure, according to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
As a result of the strike, there were injuries. One of the injured men later died in the hospital from his wounds. On March 2, the occupiers attacked the Kryvorizhzhia district, resulting in additional injuries.
“Russians struck transport infrastructure. A fire broke out. One of the victims was in extremely serious condition. All emergency services are on site, providing assistance to people and addressing the consequences of the attack,” wrote Oleksandr Hanzha from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
The State Emergency Service has not yet commented on the possible consequences, nor has Ukrzaliznytsia. The Air Forces reported that Dnipropetrovsk region was attacked by drones. In addition, the occupiers launched KAB bombs in the eastern part of the region.
More victims, one confirmed dead
It quickly became known that the number of injured was not four but five. In the hospital, there were four adults, and the fifth injured was a 10-year-old girl, who would receive outpatient treatment. In the hospital, a man who had been wounded during the attack on Kryvorizhzhia died. The number of injured rose to seven. Besides the 10-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy was also injured. Five victims remain in the hospital, and doctors assessed their condition as moderate, according to later information from Suspilne.


Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine’s Recovery and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba stated that the attack targeted a civilian train.
In Kryvorizhzhia district, Dnipropetrovsk region, an enemy drone struck one of the carriages of a suburban train while it was in motion. Unfortunately, one person was killed. Condolences are extended to the family and loved ones. According to preliminary information, seven passengers were injured, the minister wrote.
The locomotive crew immediately stopped the train. Passengers were evacuated. Emergency responders from the State Emergency Service, railway workers, and a medic from nearby stations and depots promptly arrived at the scene.
In February, Russia occupied the smallest amount of Ukrainian territory since July 2024, according to DeepState.
In addition, as a result of the Russian shelling of the Korablevyi district of Kherson, three people were killed and two were injured.
Also, on March 1, a Russian drone struck a civilian vehicle in Zaporizhzhia region. One person was injured in the city of Orikhiv as a result of the strike.
Earlier, the enemy struck a railway station in Dnipropetrovsk region with drones, damaging an electric locomotive and injuring the train driver. Despite the attack, train operations remain stable, and emergency services are mitigating the consequences.
This is another attempt by Russia to disrupt civilian logistics and supply chains.
