Air defense forces shot down 190 Russian drones during the attack on Ukraine; some were hit

On the night of May 1, Russian forces launched a large-scale drone attack on Ukrainian territory. Air defense forces destroyed most of the aerial targets, but some hits were recorded.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, starting at 5:45 p.m. on April 30, the enemy launched a total of 210 drones of various types, including Shahed strike drones, as well as “Gerbera” and “Italmas” drones. About 140 of them were Shahed drones.

The launches were carried out from Russian territory—from the Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk regions—as well as from temporarily occupied territories, specifically Crimea and Donetsk.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups were deployed to repel the attack.

As of 08:00, Ukrainian air defense forces had neutralized 190 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.

At the same time, 20 strike drones were recorded hitting 14 locations. Additionally, debris from downed drones was found in ten locations.

Information regarding the consequences of the attacks is currently being verified.

On the night of May 1, Russian troops launched an attack on port infrastructure facilities in the Odesa region. The Izmail district came under fire.

In addition, Mykolaiv was again attacked by Russian drones. Homes in the residential sector were damaged, and a fire broke out. An air raid alert remains in effect in the city, and residents are urged to stay in shelters.

In Dnipro, a bus was destroyed and a residential building, a store, and cars were damaged as a result of the strike. There is also damage in Zaporizhzhia.

As a result of the Russian attack on the night of April 30 in Odesa, extensive damage to residential infrastructure was recorded, with the Primorskyi district suffering the most.
