Russia has changed its attack tactics in the Oleksandrivka direction

Russia has changed its attack tactics in the Oleksandrivka direction

In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian forces have shifted to attacks in small infantry groups after unsuccessful assaults using military equipment.

Ukrainian military personnel reported the change in enemy tactics.

This was stated on the air of Suspilne News by Yurii Melnyk, head of the unmanned systems unit of the 141st Separate Mechanized Brigade.

According to him, offensive operations in the Oleksandrivka direction have been ongoing for three weeks. Initially, the enemy advanced toward the brigade’s positions—defending the administrative border between the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions—using motorcycles and quad bikes. The assault troops were covered by heavy equipment, including tanks.

Ukrainian defenders initially monitored these movements and then struck at the right moment. After suffering losses, Russian forces were forced to adjust their tactics.

“They attempted several assaults, but failed. The enemy changed tactics and began moving in small groups on foot within our brigade’s area of responsibility, using thermal concealment measures.

However, our zone is divided into clearly defined observation sectors. We work together with neighboring brigades, strike the enemy, and prevent them from reaching our infantry,” Melnyk said.

The Border Guard Service has also named directions where the enemy is preparing “surprises.”

It is worth noting that in border areas, the enemy has been using small assault groups instead of sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs).

The State Border Guard Service also reported a decrease in the activity of enemy DRGs.
