The Vepr robotic medical evacuation vehicle has been cleared for use on the front lines

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has certified and authorized the domestic Vepr robotic system for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The platform is capable of carrying up to 350 kg of cargo and simultaneously evacuating two wounded personnel from a combat zone. The robot is designed to perform logistical and medical tasks in the challenging conditions of the front lines.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has approved the Ukrainian-made Vepr robotic medevac for combat operations; it is capable of simultaneously evacuating two wounded soldiers.

The ministry noted that the first prototypes of the platform have been operating on the front lines since 2024, and the robot itself has been modernized to meet the current needs of the front.

“Vepr can evacuate two wounded soldiers simultaneously, carry approximately 350 kg of cargo, and has a range of up to 40 km,” the Ministry of Defense reported.

The robotic system is also equipped with cameras and multiple communication channels, allowing it to be used in various combat conditions.

The Ministry of Defense added that Vepr can perform not only medical evacuations but also deliver ammunition and military equipment, participate in demining operations, or be used as a kamikaze strike robot.

According to the ministry, ground-based robotic systems carry out up to 10,000 missions on the front lines every month, helping to save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.

Prior to this, the Ministry of Defense had certified and approved the domestic “Volynyaka” unmanned aerial system for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
