Russia attacked port infrastructure in the Odesa region: a ship was damaged in the Izmail district
The Russian Federation, the aggressor state, attacked port infrastructure in the Odesa region overnight. In the Izmail district, a civilian vessel flying the Togolese flag was damaged as a result of the strike, and four people were injured, according to Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa region.
Izmail is located near the border with Romania. The city is home to Ukraine’s largest port on the Danube, which is a vital part of the country’s trade and transportation network.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the aggressor state, stated that it had also attacked military targets in the port. The Russian ministry listed among these targets a berthing terminal for military cargo, hangars containing Western military equipment, and warehouses for maritime drones. CNBC, citing Reuters, notes that it was unable to independently verify this claim.

The attack on the Odesa region came after one of the largest Ukrainian drone strikes on Moscow since the war began, which took place over the weekend. Russian authorities claimed that over the past 24 hours, they had allegedly shot down a record 1,478 Ukrainian drones, and at least six people were killed overnight.
According to Russian authorities, a major fire broke out at a distribution warehouse belonging to the Russian e-commerce company Wildberries near Moscow during the attack. The Ukrainian military stated that the facility had been disabled, and that seven of Wildberries’ ten largest logistics hubs have already been taken out of service.
