Russia attacked Ukraine with drones; air defense forces shot down 267 drones

Overnight, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 295 strike drones, 52 of which were jet-powered. Air defense forces shot down 267 enemy UAVs.

It is noted that the attack began at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24. The Russian invaders used Shahed, “Gerbera,” “Banderole,” and “Dan-T” attack drones, as well as “Parody” decoy drones.

The drones were launched from Russian territory and temporarily occupied territories. Specifically, the drones flew from the directions of Orel, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Shatalovo, as well as from the temporarily occupied cities of Donetsk and Gvardeyskoye in Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 7:30 a.m. on Friday, September 25, Ukrainian air defense had shot down or neutralized 267 enemy UAVs.

At the same time, the consequences of the attack were observed on the ground. Hits were recorded at 16 locations, and the downed aerial targets and their debris were found at four additional sites.

The Air Force emphasized that the Russian attack is still ongoing. Several enemy drones remain in Ukrainian airspace.

In the Kherson region, nine people were injured over the past 24 hours as a result of Russian aggression. All of the victims sustained injuries due to Russian attacks on the region.

As a reminder, in the Dnipro district of Kyiv, a residential area was destroyed as a result of a Russian attack on September 24. According to preliminary information, there were no fatalities among the residents.

Also, in Obolon, a UAV crashed onto the grounds of a garage cooperative.
