The U.S. has proposed holding trilateral talks with Ukraine and Russia in the UAE
The United States has proposed holding a trilateral meeting between representatives of Ukraine, the U.S., and Russia in the United Arab Emirates. The talks are planned to take place at the technical level, and the U.S. side is expected to propose a date for the meeting.
The head of state was asked when the trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the U.S., and Russia might take place and which country is being considered as a possible venue for the talks.
According to Zelenskyy, the initiative to organize such a meeting came from the U.S.
“Regarding the trilateral meeting, the U.S. side has proposed organizing it—a trilateral meeting at the technical level,” the president stated.
At the same time, there is currently no specific date set for the talks. The Ukrainian side is awaiting a corresponding proposal from Washington.
“We are waiting for a proposal from the U.S. regarding the date,” Zelenskyy noted.
The president also reported that the U.S. has proposed holding the trilateral meeting in the United Arab Emirates.
Thus, it is currently known that there is a U.S. initiative for talks between Ukraine, the U.S., and Russia at the technical level, as well as the proposed venue—the United Arab Emirates. Washington is to determine the date of the meeting and propose it to the Ukrainian side.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during an online briefing with journalists.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the so-called “Anchorage Agreements,” which included Russia’s demands for recognition of its sovereignty over the occupied Ukrainian territories, are no longer on the negotiating table.
Dmytro Lytvyn, the Ukrainian president’s communications adviser, denied reports of an alleged trilateral meeting in New York between delegations from Ukraine, the U.S., and Russia. According to him, the Ukrainian delegation is already on its way home.
