Russia has intensified its offensive along the Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk sectors of the front
Since the start of the day, 69 combat engagements have been recorded along the front lines. The Russian army is making its strongest attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses in the Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk sectors. Ukrainian defenders continue to repel enemy attacks, and fighting is ongoing in certain areas of the front.
Since the start of Saturday, July 18, Russian troops have attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 69 times. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its summary as of 4:00 p.m. The Russian army also continues to shell border areas. Settlements in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions came under fire.
Seven combat engagements took place in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. Five of them were still ongoing. In addition, the Russians carried out 17 shelling attacks.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attempted to attack Ukrainian positions seven times in the areas of Izbytske, Khatne, Starytsia, and Prylipka. Two battles were still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, no offensive actions by Russian forces were recorded.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled six enemy attempts to advance. Fighting took place near Novoselivka, as well as in the direction of Lyman and Ozerny. Three Russian attacks were still ongoing.
The enemy was most active in the Sloviansk sector. There, Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 attacks by the Russian army near Zakitne, Kryva Luka, Minkivka, Riznykivka, and in the direction of Rai-Oleksandrivka. Four combat engagements remained active.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces launched six attacks in the Novomarkove area. Two battles were still ongoing.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the Defense Forces repelled 10 enemy attacks. The enemy attempted to advance near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and in the direction of Kuchero-Yar.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian troops made nine attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions. The attacks took place near Dorozhne, Hryshyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and in the direction of Kuchero-Yar.
On the Oleksandrivka front, the Russians made one attempt to advance toward Vorone.
In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian forces repelled an enemy attack toward Hirky.
On the Orikhiv sector, Russian troops twice stormed Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the areas of Shcherbakiv and Plavny.
In the Prydniprovsk direction, no enemy offensive actions were recorded. According to the General Staff, there have been no significant changes in the situation in other directions. No attempts by Russian troops to advance were recorded there either. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
Over the past 18 days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned aerial vehicle units have struck 83 energy facilities in the occupied territories and deep within enemy lines. Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the UAF’s Unmanned Systems Forces, stated that the last 12 targets were struck in the past three days alone.
