Russia has once again struck a heating plant in Kherson

UA.NEWS 18 July 2026 20:11
Russia has once again struck a heating plant in Kherson

Russian troops attacked one of the key heating facilities in Kherson again overnight. According to regional authorities, the facility has been hit by Russian strikes more than a thousand times, and the latest attack has effectively put it out of commission.

The facility provided heat to nearly 500 homes. After the nighttime shelling, it is no longer operational, yet Russian forces continue to strike it.

The Regional Military Administration noted that overnight, the Russian army once again deliberately attacked a critical heating facility. “Yet another manifestation of the utter despicability of Russian terrorists. Last night, the occupiers once again attacked one of the key heating facilities in Kherson,” the statement reads. According to regional authorities, this facility provided heat to nearly half a thousand homes in the city.

The Regional Military Administration emphasized that Russian forces are systematically targeting this facility. In total, it has already suffered more than a thousand attacks since the shelling began. “The Russians have struck the facility—which provides heat to nearly half a thousand homes in Kherson—more than a thousand times,” the administration reported. They added that the facility had previously sustained serious damage, and the latest shelling effectively destroyed everything that was still operational.

As a result of the nighttime attack, critical infrastructure elements were completely destroyed. The facility is currently unable to operate. Despite this, according to the Kherson Regional State Administration, Russian troops continue to shell the already destroyed facility. “At present, the facility is destroyed and inoperable, yet the occupiers continue to target it with fire from all types of weapons,” the Kherson Regional Military Administration noted.

Regional authorities once again emphasize that Russia continues to deliberately target civilian and critical infrastructure in the Kherson region, despite the fact that such facilities have no military purpose. This was reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Over the past 18 days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned aerial vehicle units have struck 83 power facilities in the occupied territories and deep within enemy lines. Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the UAV Forces, stated that the last 12 targets were struck in just the past three days.
