Russia struck a shopping center in Kharkiv

On Thursday, September 17, Russian forces launched an attack on the Slobidskyi District of Kharkiv. According to preliminary reports, a shopping center was the target of the attack.

According to Igor Terekhov, the Russian strike hit a shopping center in the Slobidskyi district of the city.

At this time, the mayor of Kharkiv has not reported any casualties or the extent of the damage.

Earlier that morning, on September 17, Igor Terekhov had already reported that a Russian missile-carrying drone had struck an infrastructure facility. That strike also occurred in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv.

On the night of September 16–17, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on September 16, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with ballistic and cruise missiles, “Banderole”/“Dan-T” munitions, and “Shahed” attack drones.

According to the Air Force, the main targets of the strikes were Kyiv, the Kyiv, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

During the attack, Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 7 out of 10 “Banderol”/“Dan-T” missile drones and 124 out of 157 drones of various types.

The Air Force noted that more than half of the 157 drones were jet-powered.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Force report contains no information on the downing or neutralization of specific types of missiles that Russia also used to attack Ukraine.

Specifically, these include “Kalibr” cruise missiles, “Iskander-M”/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles, and “Onyx” anti-ship missiles.

Information regarding the consequences of the strike on the shopping center in Kharkiv is currently being verified.

Russia once again launched a jet-powered drone at Kyiv. Explosions were heard in the capital after an air raid alert was issued.

Overnight and this morning, Russian forces carried out another series of strikes on Kyiv’s civilian infrastructure. Damage from the attack was recorded at more than 10 locations. As of 8:00 a.m., 16 people are known to have been injured, including two children.

Sixteen people, including two children, were injured as a result of the Russian strike on Kyiv. The attack damaged residential buildings, educational institutions, and a railroad track.

Russia also launched missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia, resulting in casualties.

Earlier, Russia struck Odesa and damaged a high-rise building.

On September 15, a Russian drone strike was recorded in Kyiv’s Svyatoshynskyi district. Black smoke is rising from the site.

In the Solomyanskyi district of the capital, a strike was recorded on the grounds of a garage cooperative.
