Russia reported an attack by hundreds of Ukrainian drones across 17 regions
On the night of October 7, according to statements by the Russian side, the Ukrainian Defense Forces deployed several hundred strike UAVs during an attack on Russian territory. Strikes were reportedly carried out against 17 Russian regions.
As clarified by the Russian Ministry of Defense, a new massive attack by Ukraine on Russia took place last night.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, as is customary, did not disclose the exact number of drones used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the strikes, but the report makes it clear that several hundred UAVs were involved.
Russian authorities claim that their air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 311 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
This time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to launch drones over the following regions:
- Belgorod,
- Bryansk,
- Kursk,
- Tula,
- Oryol,
- Lipetsk,
- Voronezh,
- Smolensk,
- Tambov,
- Kaluga,
- Saratov,
- Samara,
- Penza,
- Rostov,
- Volgograd regions;
- Perm Krai,
- occupied Crimea:
- the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
According to analysts tracking Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks on various regions of Russia, one group of Ukrainian UAVs was detected 1,500 km from the border. However, there are currently no reports of hits on enemy targets.
As a reminder, in the Kupiansk direction, Russia is stepping up its use of large drones.
Russian troops are advancing in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk Oblast.
Over the past day, 202 combat engagements took place on the front lines. The highest number of Russian assaults was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction—27 attacks, all of which were repelled by Ukrainian forces.
On October 7, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine updated the data on Russian military losses in the war against Ukraine. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 1,690 invaders.
