Over the past 24 hours, Russian occupation forces have carried out 250 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian border units.
The enemy is focusing primarily on the use of aerial attack assets, which significantly complicates the security situation on the country’s northern and eastern borders.
Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, reported that over the past 24 hours, the enemy fired on border units 250 times, 150 of which were carried out using drones.
The situation remains most tense in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, where the number of attacks is highest.
In the Chernihiv region, the intensity of fire is slightly lower, although, according to State Border Guard Service representatives, shelling there also remains a daily occurrence and poses a danger to civilians.
In addition to long-range strikes, the invaders are attempting to conduct active offensive operations in certain sectors of the front.
Speaking about the border troops’ area of responsibility, the State Border Guard Service spokesperson noted that the most intense fighting is taking place in the Pokrovsk direction.
Despite constant pressure and numerous infantry attacks, Ukrainian defenders are holding the line firmly.
“In recent days, the enemy has been most active in its assault operations in the Pokrovsk direction. But it cannot advance deeper into our country in this direction due to the positions held by border units,” Demchenko said.
The Russian army continues to employ scorched-earth tactics, attempting to destroy the logistics and fortifications of Ukrainian forces.
A large proportion of the shelling is concentrated in the border regions within Sumy and Kharkiv Oblasts, requiring border guards to remain on high alert.
