Russians are attempting to break through on the Sloviansk and Pokrovsk fronts — General Staff
Since the start of the day on July 24, Russian terrorists have attempted to breach the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 52 times. Artillery shelling of border areas continues unabated. In the Sumy region, the towns of Bachivsk, Neskuchne, Sopych, Korenok, Seredina-Buda, Tovstodubove, Iskriskivshchyna, and Bezsalivka came under fire, while in the Chernihiv region, Arkhipivka was shelled.
Situation by Sector
- In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy carried out one airstrike, launched one missile, and conducted 36 shelling attacks on populated areas and our troops’ positions, including one attack using a multiple launch rocket system.
- In the Southern Slobozhansky sector, the invaders made three attempts to break through the defenses near Starytsia.
- In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched one attack toward Kupiansk.
- In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled seven attempts by the invaders to advance toward the settlements of Drobysheve, Novoselivka, Stavky, Lyman, and Ozerne. One attack is still ongoing.
- In the Sloviansk sector, the Defense Forces repelled 12 enemy attacks in the areas around the settlements of Zakytne, Kryva Luka, Riznykivka, and toward Mykolaivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka. Three engagements are still ongoing.
- In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian invaders carried out one attack in the area of Fedorivka Druha.
- In the Kostiantynivka sector, our defenders repelled 10 attacks in the areas around the settlements of Kostiantynivka and Illinivka, as well as toward Mykolaipillia and Vilne. One firefight is still ongoing.
- In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, the occupiers have attempted 13 times to dislodge our troops from their positions in the areas of Dorozhne, Udachne, and toward the settlements of Shevchenko, Novooleksandrivka, Vasylivka, and Serhiivka.
- In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy launched a single attack toward Berezove.
- In the Hulyaypil sector, the Defense Forces repelled two enemy attacks toward Charivne.
In other sectors, there are currently no significant changes in the situation. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.

As a reminder, operators from Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces cleared a mined forest area that had long been used by Russian troops as cover.
Earlier, Zelenskyy reported on the casualties following a ballistic missile strike in the Kyiv region.
Russian troops carried out one of the largest recent attempts at a tank breakthrough in the Dobropillia sector. Ukrainian border guards, together with neighboring units, thwarted the occupiers’ offensive.
