Russians shot seven civilians in Pokrovsk

On December 21 in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, a horrific incident occurred: two Russian soldiers shot seven civilians who were hiding in the basement of a residential building.

This was reported by the project “Khochu Zhyty” (“I Want to Live”), which operates under the control of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

The incident happened when Russian soldiers demanded alcohol from a father and son who came out to them, and then, after being refused, killed the entire family who were sheltering in the basement.

After committing the crime, the Russian soldiers reported to their commander that they had “eliminated a group of AFU sabotage and reconnaissance fighters” and set the house on fire.

On December 23, both soldiers were detained, but expert assessments indicate that such war crimes against the civilian population in Ukraine continue. According to human rights defenders, the situation has not received sufficient publicity, which may allow the occupiers to avoid punishment.

It should be recalled that recently Ukraine managed to return a group of children from the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, where they had lived under constant threats and attacks by Russian drones.
