The Russians struck the Chernihiv region and destroyed a grain silo
Over the past day in the Chernihiv region, Russian troops shelled communities in the region 23 times. As a result of the attacks, a 57-year-old man was wounded, a residential building and a farm structure caught fire, and in the Pryluky District, Russian drones destroyed an agricultural enterprise’s grain storage facility.
According to him, on the morning of August 22, the Russians attacked a resident of the Novhorod-Siverskyi community with an FPV drone. The 57-year-old man was injured and taken to the hospital. In the Snovsk community, a residential building caught fire as a result of an FPV drone strike. Rescue workers were on the scene.
Another attack occurred in the Menska community. There, a Russian drone caused a fire in stubble fields and damaged a farm building. An agricultural enterprise in the Pryluky district sustained the most damage. In the evening and overnight, Russian forces struck the district with “Geran”-type attack drones.
As a result of this attack, the enterprise’s grain silo was destroyed. Thus, Russian strikes over the past 24 hours caused damage not only to residential buildings but also to agricultural facilities in the region. There was also one civilian casualty as a result of the attacks.
In total, according to the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Russian forces shelled the Chernihiv region 23 times over the past day. This was reported by Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration.
Since the evening of August 22, Russian troops have attacked Ukraine with 127 strike drones. Air defense forces neutralized 97 of them, but 27 drones were confirmed to have struck 22 locations.
Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army lost another 1,310 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Ukrainian forces also destroyed one Russian aircraft, 26 armored combat vehicles, 69 artillery systems, and nearly 2,000 drones.
Over the past day, on August 22, there were 254 clashes between Ukrainian and Russian forces on the front lines. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors.
