Russians shelled 11 settlements in Sumy region over the past day: one killed and several wounded
Over the course of the day, from the morning of December 15 to the morning of December 16, 2025, Russian forces carried out nearly two dozen shelling attacks on the border areas of the Sumy region.
The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported on the intense attacks and their consequences, publishing an оперативне operational summary.
Eleven settlements within eight territorial communities of the region came under fire.
The highest number of shelling incidents was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts, where the enemy deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure. There is one fatality and several wounded civilians in the region, some of whom require long-term medical treatment.
Medical personnel and rescue services are working in an intensified mode, documenting the consequences of each strike and providing assistance to the affected residents.
In the Velyka Pysarivka community, a 68-year-old man was killed as a result of an FPV drone strike while he was in the yard of his own home.
Another local resident, a 72-year-old man, sought medical assistance after being wounded by a similar drone strike on December 14. Doctors are providing him with the necessary care and assessing the severity of his injuries.
