The Russians destroyed the market in Shulyavka during the nighttime shelling of Kyiv
On the night of June 15, during yet another massive attack by Russian occupiers on the capital, the well-known market near the Shulyavska metro station sustained serious damage.
A massive fire broke out as a result of a direct hit by enemy munitions and falling debris, which almost completely destroyed the market stalls.
Rescuers from the State Emergency Service, medical personnel, and other city emergency services responded promptly at the scene.
A powerful explosion rocked the Shevchenkivskyi district, after which the fire instantly spread to dozens of market stalls and stands. The fire covered several hundred square meters, and a thick column of black smoke rose over the area.
It took rescuers several hours to fully contain and extinguish the fire amid the threat of secondary explosions. Information regarding the exact number of casualties among employees or security personnel is currently being verified.
