A Russian attack halted train traffic through the Lozova station

Due to a Russian military strike on the railway infrastructure in the Kharkiv region, Ukrzaliznytsia has temporarily restricted train traffic from Lozova Station and in the opposite direction. Specialists are currently working to address the aftermath of the attack and restore operations at the railway junction.

It is reported that, according to preliminary information, there are fatalities and injuries among railway workers as a result of the strike on Lozova Station.

“At this time, train service to and from Lozova Station has been temporarily suspended. Passengers currently traveling to Lozova are asked to monitor individual notifications in the app,” the statement reads.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that the station building, the overhead contact system, and rolling stock were damaged as a result of the attack. All necessary Ukrzaliznytsia services and rescue workers are on site.

Shelters have been set up at the station. After the heightened danger alert was issued, employees were promptly instructed to take immediate shelter. An investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy is currently underway to determine exactly what prevented the rescue of people’s lives.
