Russian ballistic strike leaves Konotop completely without power
Occupying forces of the Russian Federation carried out a targeted strike on critical infrastructure in the city of Konotop, resulting in a total power outage.
The city’s mayor, Artem Semenikhin, reported that the facility was completely destroyed by the strike. According to preliminary information, there were no civilian casualties or injuries. The city has now switched to backup generators to ensure the operation of hospitals and other essential institutions.
The attack followed a warning about the threat of ballistic weapons being launched from the territory of the Russian Federation. Due to the extensive destruction of the energy infrastructure, officials are currently unable to provide forecasts regarding the restoration of centralised power supply, as the equipment damage is described as critical. All emergency services are operating in an enhanced режим to stabilise the situation amid a complete blackout in residential areas.
It is worth recalling that two people were killed in two regions as a result of Russian attacks.
In addition, several districts of Odesa are without water following a massive strike on the region.
