Russian drones attacked a civilian bulk carrier in the Black Sea

On the night of April 24, Russian occupation forces carried out a targeted attack on a civilian merchant vessel traveling through the Ukrainian maritime corridor.

This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

The strike by enemy drones was recorded while the bulk carrier was en route to one of the ports in the Greater Odessa area.

According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, the bulk carrier flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis was struck by two attack drones.

This incident is yet another confirmation of the aggressor’s attempts to block civilian shipping and disrupt food logistics.

“While traveling through the Ukrainian maritime corridor, a UAV strike on a merchant vessel was recorded,” the USPA officially reported.

The attack took place directly on the open sea while the bulk carrier was sailing within a designated safety route.

A fire broke out on board the civilian vessel as a result of the enemy drones’ strike. The crew managed to respond quickly to the threat and extinguish the fire on their own, preventing the destruction of property.
