The General Staff relieved the commander of the 14th Mechanized Brigade of his duties following a scandal over the provision of supplies to troops near Kupiansk

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has made personnel decisions regarding the command of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade following media coverage of the critical situation regarding the supply of troops in the Kupiansk sector.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

This concerns units of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade, attached to the 30th Brigade, which were carrying out missions near Kupiansk. Photos of exhausted soldiers appeared online, and their relatives reported serious problems with food and water supplies.

According to the soldiers’ relatives, some servicemen remained at their positions without adequate supplies for 10–17 days, leading to drastic weight loss and deteriorating health.

There were also reports of lost contact with family members, making it impossible to deliver supplies, and radio communication was unreliable.

The General Staff attributed the situation to complex logistics in this area. Russian troops regularly shell crossings over the Oskil River, which significantly complicates the delivery of supplies.

Supplies were delivered using heavy drones and water transport.

At the same time, the General Staff acknowledged that the brigade command had failed to report the actual state of affairs, which led to a worsening of the situation.

“To rectify the situation, a series of personnel decisions have been made. Specifically, the commander of the 14th Mechanized Brigade has been relieved of his post, and the commander of the 10th Army Corps has been dismissed and reassigned to a lower rank,” the General Staff reported.

Colonel Taras Maksimov has been appointed the new commander of the 14th Brigade, and Brigadier General Artem Bogomolov has taken command of the 10th Army Corps.

The General Staff emphasized that an internal investigation will be conducted, and those responsible for the situation will be held accountable.

Information has appeared on social media regarding an alleged critical situation with the supply of soldiers from the 14th Brigade’s 2nd Mechanized Battalion, who are stationed at their positions without sufficient food and water.

Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence intercepted a conversation between Russian Armed Forces soldiers complaining about critical problems with food and water supplies at their positions. This indicates serious difficulties with logistical support for Russian units.
