Russian occupiers shelled fire stations and rescue workers in Druzhkivka and Nikopol
Russian troops struck a fire and rescue unit in Druzhkivka, Donetsk Oblast, and twice fired on State Emergency Service personnel in Nikopol while they were responding to a previous attack.
As a result of the enemy’s actions, specialized equipment and the unit’s building sustained significant damage; however, there were no injuries or fatalities among the personnel.
In the city of Druzhkivka, Donetsk Oblast, Russian aircraft used guided aerial bombs (KABs) to strike civilian infrastructure.
The devastating explosions damaged the building of the local fire and rescue unit and two pieces of emergency response equipment that were being used to respond to emergencies in the frontline region.
Rescue workers managed to take cover during this airstrike, so none of them were injured.
An even more insidious attack was recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where the enemy deliberately employed a tactic of repeated strikes against civilian services.
In Nikopol, while extinguishing a fire following a Russian strike on a gas station, rescue workers were twice subjected to follow-up fire from the occupying forces.
Russian soldiers deliberately waited for the emergency services to arrive and opened fire on the people who were fighting the flames.
The attack on the Nikopol firefighters took place in two stages, indicating a deliberate targeting of Ukrainian emergency responders.
First, the Russians damaged one fire truck, and when another crew arrived to help, they attacked again.
The second vehicle also sustained significant damage from shrapnel, but fortunately, the emergency responders themselves, once again, miraculously escaped unharmed.
This was officially reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
